Privacy policy

Inkstream is made by Slowpond ("we"). This policy explains what happens to information when you play Inkstream on iPhone, iPad or Mac, or in a web browser.

The short version

Inkstream does not collect any information about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking. We never see your progress, your settings or anything else about how you play.

What stays on your device

The app saves your progress (which ponds you have solved, your best turns, seals, daily results and streak) and your settings (sound, look, haptics, reminder time) on your device, so you can pick up where you left off. This data never leaves your device except through the Apple services below, and only if you use them.

You can erase it at any time in Settings, More, Reset progress, or by deleting the app.

iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud, the app keeps your progress and settings in step between your devices using iCloud key value storage. This is Apple's service, tied to your own Apple Account. The data is stored by Apple under its privacy policy and is not accessible to us. You can turn iCloud off for the app in your device's settings.

Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center, the app reports achievements and leaderboard scores (for example, your turns on the daily pond) to Game Center so you can see them and compare with friends. Game Center is Apple's service and works under Apple's privacy policy. Your Game Center profile and scores are handled by Apple; we do not receive your name, email or contacts. If you are not signed in, nothing is sent.

Daily reminder

If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device. It is created and delivered on your device; no server is involved.

The web version and these pages

The web version of Inkstream saves your progress in your browser's local storage, on your device only. These web pages and the web version are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. We do not set cookies and do not add analytics or trackers to these pages.

Children

Inkstream is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information, it collects none from children.

Changes

If Inkstream ever adds a feature that changes any of the above, we will update this page before that version is released and change the date at the top.
